The link or anchor tag is an easy tag that does SOOO much...

The wonderful thing about the Internet
is that everyone ends up sharing their own special links....
You can start off on one great page
and then you have been led to 10 more and then 10 more....
It is an exponential explosion of information......

The links you use on your pages will be not only links to other pages...
which are the EXTERNAL Links....
Equally important is when you use the anchor tag to link
the pages of your site together....INTERNAL Links....
It is done exactly the same way...(the internal and external)
View the graphic below......

<A HREF="http://animatedgifs.simplenet.com">NET CREATOR'S ICON PAGE</A>

This is an external link that will take you to the NET CREATOR'S ICON PAGE..
Note there is the < then the A then a space then HREF
then = then the URL in quotations then the >
Then you will describe the link ..This part will show up as underlined...
Then end the link with the </A> closing bracket....
IT's THAT EASY.....

ere is another

<A HREF="color.html">ADDING COLOR TO YOUR PAGES</A>

This is an INTERNAL link to another page in my site....
See how easy it is to link....
You can wrap the anchor or link tag now around buttons, graphics,
animated gifs and then those items become the links themselves when hit on....
Here is a sample of the one that you find at the bottom of all my pages...

<A HREF="menu.html"><IMG SRC="mainstickbut.jpg" ></A>

All that shows up on the screen is the graphic...
When you hit on the graphic you will be taken
to the main menu which I have named menu.html....
TIPS: Watch that you copy the spacing correctly...
Make sure you end the tag.</A>...
Make sure you don't leave out any quotes...
These are just all the things I have done...LOL
The color that you're link will take is set to a default in the Browser
...a nice purple color...but you might not want that color...
You can change the link colors in the <BODY>tag...
EXAMPLE BELOW....
<BODY LINK="GREEN" VLINK="MAROON" ALINK="FUSHIA">
You're probably wondering what that VLINK and ALINK are doing in there....
These are where you can set the color for the links previously visited
VLINK specifies the links previously visited..
ALINK
is the active link, that is the color that is briefly
used for links the moment the user clicks on the link...
(if you want to get real specific...about your links.)
